Apple Picking Off the Beaten Path

So I have a controversial mom confession- I don’t like theme parks… even, dare I say… Disney. If my kids don’t become interested I will literally never take them.
Apple orchards though, those are my jam! We had the most amazing day with the girls, picking apples, finding our perfect pumpkin, eating a DOZEN apple cider donuts, drinking hard cider. It was magical ✨ I think I must have said “this is the perfect day” about 100 times but it wasn’t enough. This was the PERFECT day.
The orchard we always go to is actually called Chile’s Peach Orchard. They have all sorts of pickings all year but we love going for the apple season. The reason we like to go here instead of it’s more popular branch Carter Mountain Orchard is because of how kid friendly Chile’s is. It’s flat so you can grab a wagon that they provide and stick the kids in! They also have pumpkins and will lend you the gear you need to clip and carry your goods!
Another reason to love Chili’s is the food, wine and hard cider that they have on location! After a day of picking apples and pumpkins we always end with some hard cider on draft, apple cider donuts and soup!
As we were leaving Chile’s with a car full of sleepy babies, rolling pumpkins and the smell of ripe apples in the car I was already thinking of how badly I wanted to visit again…
